First engineered in the 1960’s, Light Emitting Diodes (LED’s) have revolutionised energy efficient lighting. LED bulbs produce light differently to the traditional incandescent bulbs. While old fashioned incandescent bulbs passed electricity through a filament, LED’s produce light through the use of a semi-conductor that emits light energy when an electrical current is passed through it.
